Student Workshop of the
International Association for Philosophical Anthropology:

Transcendence and Love for a New Global Society

Introduction

The 10 days following their II International Congress, the International Association for Philosophical Anthropology will organize a workshop for students interested in getting to know more about Philosophical Anthropology and its impact in Eastern European history and politics. It will be a privileged occasion for intellectual reflection on the WYD experience that many of the participants will just have been to, as explained in this article.

Workshop Structure

The workshop will be divided into two blocks: Wednesday the 3rd through Saturday the 6th of August and Monday the 8th of August through Thursday the 11th of August.  Sunday the 7th is an excursion day, and we leave Friday the 12th in the morning. The topics of the blocks are the following:
  • An introduction to Philosophical Anthropology
  • The Theology of the Body of John Paul II
  • The impact of Philosophical Anthropology on Eastern European History
  • The impact of Philosophical Anthropology on Eastern European Politics
These courses are given at an introductory level, which means that no prior knowledge of philosophy is required.
Each block contains four lectures of 1.5 hours, which will be given in the mornings. The afternoons will be dedicated to social, sportive, and cultural activities.

Registration

The workshop fee is €500,- which includes the course, lodging and meals, but not any costs associated with transport or excursions. It also includes costs for the IAPA 2nd International Congress on 1 and 2 August, which we think will be important for the participants to attend, to get an impression of the academic debate around these issues.

Please register before April 30, 2016 so that we can we can properly prepare the Workshop.
